As a premiere private institute of higher education in Kuwait, the mission of Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) is to deliver teaching excellence based on knowledge and innovation. These two qualities are primordially dependent on building a research environment whose capacities are consolidated through a graduate studies program that engages students. The office of graduate studies and research administers four offices: graduate studies, research and development, research centers, and institutional effectiveness.
GUST students benefit from enrolling accredited graduate programs that meet international standards. They get the chance to interact with our outstanding faculty members who are always ready for any assistance. For instance, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offers its students several advantages, such as, improving the management and leadership skills, attaining outstanding learning capacities that meet international standards, and integrate the local and international markets.
The research and development office (RDO) emphasizes on enhancing GUST research outcomes in order to meet national interests and international standards. The RDO assists faculty members in finding adequate resources to fund their research related activities. It also advises the faculty on the submission process of their research grants applications and ensures these latter are aligned with the national priorities to increase the project’s acceptance rate. The RDO verifies the compliance to ethical codes, such as, research conduct, budgetary accountability, and quality of scholarly publications.
The research centers at GUST offer an intellectual nexus, assure the collaborative spirit among the faculty, and provide integral scholar activities that encompass holding seminars, workshops, submission of joint research projects, hosting visiting scholars, and training sessions.
Therefore, the ultimate objective of the office of Graduate Studies and Research is to develop solid groundbreaking research capacities that propel GUST into a model of research-based learning environment, a quintessential step to ensure sustainable development.
