GUST holds Distinguished Faculty Award Ceremony

Kuwait City, 22 June 2021: The Research and Development Office along with the Academic Affairs Office at GUST, presented the Distinguished Faculty Research Award for the 2020/21 Academic Year. The award was presented by Vice President of Academic Affairs, Professor Bassam Alameddine, and the Director of the Graduate Studies & Research Office, Professor Issam El Moughrabi in a ceremony on campus.

 

The Distinguished Faculty Research Award is an acknowledgment of outstanding achievement and success in research highlighting the research contributions of faculty members. The objective of the award is to reward of noteworthy scholarly activity that has brought immense recognition to GUST and to encourage academic research at GUST. Recipients of the award receive a KWD 750 monetary prize. The award is offered annually to one faculty member from each college at GUST. This year Assistant Professor of Business, Dr. Mohammed Laid Ouakouak and Associate Professor of Math and Natural Science, Dr. Fawaz Yaseen Azizieh both received the award in recognition of their accomplishments and dedication for conducting high-caliber and exceptional research work.

 

 

Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Bassam Alameddine, said “This award showcases the hard work and effort our GUST faculty have put despite the circumstances from the past year. Their academic integrity and excellence are an example of GUSTs proud tradition of continuous excellence.”

 

The Distinguished Faculty Research Award is to be granted every academic year to faculty members who excelled in research through their scholarly activities such as, publishing high quality articles in international renowned journals of distinguished merit.
