Contributions and Efforts Recognized as GUST Honors Research Center Directors

Kuwait City, 14 July 2021: Gulf University for Science and Technology’s (GUST) Graduate Studies and Research Office (GSR) held an appreciation award ceremony recognizing the directors of the Center for Teaching, Learning & Research (CTLR), Gulf Financial Center (GFC), and Center for Applied Mathematics and Bioinformatics (CAMB). The ceremony, which took place in the Board of Trustees Conference room, was led by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Bassam Alameddine, and GSR Director, Professor Issam El-Moughrabi.
CTLR Chair Dr. Fatimah Al Hashem, GFC Chair Dr. Yousef Abdul Razaq, and Dr. Wassim Daher were all recognized for their contribution to the GUST community and their respective fields.
Graduate Studies and Research Office Director, Professor Issam El-Moughrabi said “the appreciation award ceremony highlighted the vital role Research Center Chairs play during the time of their service and reflects on how the university appreciates and values the dedication and the hard work of its community leaders.”
Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Bassam Alameddine said “It is an honor to award the chairs of these prestigious centers for their hard work and dedication. They have brought great research and collaborative opportunities to GUST in their posts as Chairs. They will be greatly missed and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
CTLR, GFC, and CAMB are only three of a wide array of centers hosted at GUST, such as the Global Studies Center (GSC) and the Center for Professional Advancement and Continuing Education (PACE). These centers offer workshops, research opportunities, academic and professional lectures, and host multiple events year-round. They are an integral part of GUST’s community and are a testament to its strive for continuous excellence, and to become a beacon of knowledge in the region.
